Abstract
Aims: Mosques are one of the essential elements of Iranian and Islamic cities that interact with the urban environment. The entrance is the first space in the mosque that the audience encounters. According to the spiritual concepts, this space provides the audience with the necessary preparation to enter the hierarchy. Light hierarchy is one of the hierarchical factors that effectively understand space and evoke emotions. Light is a supernatural element that can change a person's feelings in space. Therefore, the present study quantitatively compares and contrasts lighting components in the entrance space of four-aisled mosques.
Methods: In the theoretical section, the research variables have been explained by studying scientific sources. Then, by simulating mosques, the light indicators at the entrance of mosques in the Climate Studio plugin are analyzed.
Findings: Considering the results of simulation data analysis, the relationship between the entrance and the inner courtyard of the mosque, entrance decorations, materials, and lattice opening are factors determining the light hierarchy in mosque entrance spaces.
Conclusion: The two parts of separation from the urban space and connection to the courtyard space have the highest light intensity and the changes in light intensity along the route are according to the location of the mosque and the characteristics of the human eye.

Abstract
Aims: Optimizing energy consumption in buildings, which includes a large part of the total energy consumed in the country, is very important. The window is also part of the interface inside and outside the building. The purpose of this research is to optimize the opening in the office in Tehran in terms of obtaining enough daylight and reducing energy consumption.
Methods: Simulation and optimization of the window performed parametrically in the Grasshopper and analysis of the objectives using the Honeybee and Ladybug plugins. The spatial Daylight Autonomy (sDA) and the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) calculated for proportions and varied window positions in eight variable directions.
Findings: The windows on the eastern north rotation and later in the east rotation had the best results. The window to wall ratio was 20% to 28%, with an average length of 6.53 and 0.9 meters, respectively, for the research model, the most ideal response. The distance between the windows to wal and the sillheight were respectively 0.65 and 2.22 meters.
Conclusion: Using modern simulation techniques enables building designers to have more intelligent choices in design with scientific approaches. The repeatable framework presented in this study can be used for buildings with different user positions or proportions, and ultimately enable designers to play an effective role in sustainable development by increasing their design productivity.

Abstract
The main sources of all natural light are the sun, the moon and the stars. In other words, the principle source of illumination is the light as mediated by atmosphere. According to some philosophers, spiritual or holy light includes not only material and quantified aspect, but being non-physical properties it treats as a spiritual connector between god and man. The light is the main part of existence which not only contacts to the surface of objects, but also helps them form. In other words, light is the key of finding space fundamental in making holy places meaningful.
The present paper tries to make a comparative analysis of lighting in some of the most famous sacred buildings around the world. As such, the methodology preferred in this piece of research is descriptive, analytic and comparative.
