Abstract

Iranian-Islamic architecture is a precious heritage of Shia culture which is the legacy of past generation, the valuable samples of which are well observed and recognizable in planning, design, and management system of historical cities of Iran. The relation between Iranian-Islamic architecture and theoretical basis, principles of Islamic jurisprudence, and verses of scripture and revelation shall be a valuable treasure in guiding and developing Iranian contemporary architecture and urban development. An overview of practical experiences and their theoretical foundation in the areas of architecture, urban development and urban management indicates that explaining the relation between theoretical principles and physical specifications is the prerequisite for realization and implementation of an architecture style and orientation; it is on the basis of such approach that the subject of the present research could be analyzed in the bed of Koran verses and their valid interpretations. The main research question is that what does identity mean in Islamic architecture? And where is the position of this definition in the formation of Islamic architecture? What are the requirements for realization of the rule of no injury loss in Islam in the bed of forming Islamic architecture? How Islamic architecture is formed in the bed of identifying elements and where is the position of these elements in Islamic architecture? The research method used in this study is based on a logical reasoning method. Upon drawing the theoretical framework of the research, the specialized and scientific resources are analyzed using comparative method, then the resulted opportunities and challenges are discussed. This research is required to be treated qualitatively, so it will be viewed based on free research paradigm using library sources and field study. The research findings indicate that the observance of 10 principles could be introduced as the realization of a rule of no injury loss in Islam in architecture and urban development system, especially in directing and planning urban development projects.

Abstract The tombs play an important role in the Islamic era. These buildings, which are widely distributed in all parts of Iran, can reveal detailed information about the architectural styles, decorations and other materials relating to the structures and forms of these kinds of buildings. Shiite Zeidiyye government in the fourth century AD and Mar’ashid in the eighth century AD, and immigration of Sādāt and Alavid individuals to the Iranian plateau and regions such as Rey, Ghasran, Damavand, Tabarestan, Ghumes (Kumesh) and Khorassan, have been the reasons for the development of these buildings. With the death or martyrdom of these people, those places were focal points for the growth of the Shi'ite thoughts and justice-oriented uprisings or jumps. Lavassanat and Rudbar-e-Ghasran region in the northern present-day Tehran has been in direct contact with the area of Damavand in the southern Alborz climatically, historically, and culturally. This study is an analysis between some Ilkhanid buildings in the area of Lavasanat and RudbarGhasran and some contemporaneous monuments at Damavand area. The purpose is a comparison and studying of architectonic structure of the buildings, stylistic similarities and differences between them, and the kind of material and ornaments used at the mentioned regions. The research method is descriptive – analytic, data gathering was done by field and documentary methods with a theoretical orientation in cultural history studies.

places in there.
Conclusion:
Assessment of the neighborhood dwellers about their living places influences the level or extent
of the achieving objectives and success in urban projects. Also by recognizing factors contributing
on inhabitants’ degree of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and understanding available conditions
regarding residence quality, the future approaches have been suggested for promoting the environment
qualitative level and prevention from a repetition of some inappropriate actions in other places.
In the literature, satisfaction from environmental appearance has been considered as a key criterion
for the evaluation of the degree of environmental quality. This is due to the important fact that the
high-quality environment is defined as an environment which brings the high level of satisfaction feelings
to its population through socio-cultural and physical means.

Introduction
Designed according to the principles of the Iranian Islamic architecture in the world do not have many samples. Western culture influenced modern architecture and has little respect to the culture and customs of Iranians. Be careful in places design like airports is very important in a place that a large number of passengers every day. This research is a descriptive study and information gathering tool has been library tool and Tried to influence elements of Islamic-Iranian architecture in the design of an airport. In today's world in which the technology speaks first prior to everything, the shortage of time and the need for speeding works is clear for everyone. It must be accepted that the need for a high speed in transportation category can be important and discussible more than anything. Regarding the airplane as the fastest vehicle in today's world leads us to the space for accessing the airplane, i.e. the airport. irport terminals are buildings, which were considered as main arrivals and departures gates of the cities. And its main users are temporary and the building serves them as a pathway. This space is a perfect platform for the creation of a permanent mental and memorable space at the beginning of an entrance to a city or a country.
In addition to the important issue of the performance in airport designing, paying attention to the combination between space, form, structure and light in this building plays an important role in designing. Regarding the optimum consumption of the energy and strategies for the sake of reducing greenhouse gases and supplying the complex energy by itself and regarding the modern technology, it is necessary to definitely equip an advanced airport complex to smart materials. Therefore, regarding the mentioned items, an architect can provide convenience for passengers with proper designing and easily guide them to their objectives. Airports are a collection of different plants and equipment has been made to provide facilities for handling and air transport. As maritime transport requires port, the airport can also be likened to the air port that is required for air transportation. In places such as airports, that all passengers must be attend at least an hour early, and in many cases different reasons caused delays for passengers, it is essential to reduce psychological pressure work with a variety of solutions(Factors and solutions to improve). In an airport environment, many factors can be taken into account that can be suitable environment, away from stress and mental tension designed. In an airport environment, many factors can be considered with the help of those factors; it can be suitable environment away from stress and mental tension designed. Passengers expect a comfortable and charming terminal facilities and the behavior be effective, acceptable and done without wasting time. For this reason, the design of passenger terminal must be functional and beautiful architecture. Iranian architecture has architectural features that in compare with other countries has particular value: features such as proportional design, accurate calculations, the correct form of coverage, compliance with technical and scientific issues in the building, high balconies, tall columns and the various decorations that each of which in simplicity represents the magnificent architecture of this land . Ecological, ethnic and cultural type causes of human construction are very diverse in the area of housing and other buildings in our country.
Discussion and Conclusion
The use of different materials, different styles, very much functions of a building that still remains in our country many old houses. It seems knowing what we have in the past and recognize the principles and standards of our traditional architecture and give them a body language, pave the way to achieve what is intended, and it is the responsibility of individual architects to refer to original sources and valuable examples. The principles of confidentiality, hierarchy, coordination, connection with nature, geometry, etc. are all of those who today truly obsoleted and certainly, understanding and applying them will helpful. Since we are talk about confusion and lack of identity in today Architecture of Iran, perhaps the biggest problem in addition to the West-oriented are non-planning, a lack of strong ideas and a lack of understanding of contemporary architecture, in a break with the past architecture. The study attempts to examine some of the elements of the Iranian Islamic architecture and analysis of the potential impact of these factors on airport design, in order to recognize moral and material factors that an airport space needs them, So that could be achieve today’s Islamic architectural structures and bodies.
To date, various theories and discussions about the airport and how to design it with the help of elements and different criteria have been proposed and there are articles and books written on this subject that some have been directly used by authors. There are many different factors effect on the psyche of the passengers and the first one is time. The time they must wait, sometimes there are the stress and concerns, such as fear of flying. For this reason it is necessary that the expected space that is designed, in terms of soul mind and spirit calm passengers. Architecture as a body of thought has always been a tool for the development of thinking, attitudes and thoughts of every nation. The trace of principles and ideology prevailing culture of this country is best seen in traditional architecture of Iran. Iranian architecture that is one of the richest examples of vernacular architecture with notable formic achievements in the world, it became one of the most successful examples of architectural concept during the Islamic period.
Results
In traditional Islamic architecture in Iran, the importance of "need" in construction of "form" in Iranian architects designing and performance is obvious. Forms that sometimes is associated with creativity and unique technology, this has been indicator the ability of Iranian architects. Iranian architecture with variables such as: the benefits and avoid idleness, targeted, symbolism and legibility, prioritization and hierarchy and perfectionism, which is obtained by logical reasoning, could remind some Islamic culture values and principles such as unity, targeted and prosperity, social solidarity, individuality, respect and value, to avoid extravagance and frivolity and valuable meanings to the people using the space. In Iranian traditional architecture, some principles have been used by architect artist rooted in his vision of the universe. Addressing the root is dealing with principles. Understand the principle, is the meaning what direct the art and civilization in all of human society with a common culture and belief. So in authentic Islamic-Iranian architecture, the environment (in order to meet the needs of the inhabitants) took shape and then came to form, while in Iranian modern architecture at first, the space and then the need and comply with space take shape. Architects as creators of the building, are creating a short-lived effect and its survival is dependent on technology and technology. While in original Islamic-Iranian architecture, innovative architecture aimed to create space and building.

Abstract

Introduction: Nowadays, mental health of people has become a complex issue. So that the world health organization has proposed different solutions for health improvements. There has been an increase in mental disorders and depression in different communities and the importance of mental health has been neglected in many cases. It has been stated that social structure and culture play a fundamental role in the formation of some diseases such as depression and stress disorders. Therefore, further investigation is required for the relevance of the two important issues of mental health and culture. UNESCO defines culture “a set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of a society or a social group that in addition to art and literature, it encompasses lifestyles, ways of living together, value systems, traditions and beliefs.” Architecture's role in the expression of beliefs and culture, which are the expression of human identity, are believed to be an undeniable role. Therefore, the culture of any society, is the basis of the societies' architecture, in a way that it is the reflection of the community's culture. Iran's traditional architecture is the identity of faith, divine nature of goodness and deep passion. Given the link between mysticism and art in Iranian culture, the principles of Islamic art, especially architecture, influenced by the mystical dimension of Islam. Islamic civilization is based on peace and peaceful houses. According to the Quran, home is a place of rest and peace. So the first aim of building a house is to provide a place for human comfort. In recent years, with the change of lifestyles, the concept of home and residence has been changed. Therefore, the concept of home that was responsive to the needs of the life of human beings, has been changed as a mechanical product. This study endevours to exploit the principles of appropriate home from reliable sources such as Quran and Shi'a jurisprudence and investigate these principles in Iranian-Islamic traditional houses in order to reach a suitable guideline for contemporary houses with regards to Iranian-Islamic culture for mental health improvements of people.
Literature review Mental health issue is less addressed in the researches and also there is not enough attention toward increasing mental health and stabilizing it. In most of the essays there are some sorts of solutions which are referring to a cure after happening this mental damage while, it is possible to figure out a solution for preventing this important modern issue which is preventable. Therefore, a sort of architecture which is connected to the life of people and also is a part of this life would have an undeniable effect on stabilizing the mental health. The cultural identity of the society could be considered as an important factor for the mental health of each person. Iranian-Islamic culture in contemporary houses are the most important issue in society needs mental peace and human separation from their culture leads to alienation from the original values of the community. One of the most important strategies in the design of contemporary architecture inspired by the principles of respect for the traditional homes of Iranian-Islamic culture that has defined the overall stability of international sustainability. Generally the features of Iranian culture, not only helps mental health but also helps the sustainability of architecture. According to Iranian culture, house is not just a shelter for residents, moreover, it should induce relaxation. The human sense of independence and external noise is not transmitted to the interior of the house.Traditional Islamic architecture reflects the enduring idea of archetype in the past, present and future through continuous image with timeless character wherein the act of creation on the part of some vast horizons disappear, to be together. Since sustainability has all the comprehensive features to meet the human, psychological, and environmental needs, it can be possible to achieve a sustainable approach to the design of consensus with the role of culture in all aspects of sustainability. Sustainable architecture that is combined with culture, will never be forgotten and the process that is constantly going on in people's lives will continue and will retain its durability as traditional architecture. Because culture is what remains in the mind of people and is recognized. Moreover, traditional buildings due to the Iranian cultural principles, have reached sustainability. According to contemporary sustainable architecture, using traditional design methods seems to be desirable. Because historical experience has shown that the traditional architecture of the contemporary architecture has been more successful in this regard. In addition, the presence of important cultural elements of traditional architecture in the environment, as a part of the native human memory, creates a sense of space and serenity. In addition, the traditional architecture has a close link with the body and the human mind and is a manifestation of the ontology of that period and creates an environment that corresponds to the human. The use of traditional experiences, is essential for the progress of society and the advancement of physical and mental, social and spiritual result. This can be important not only for the present, but also for the attributes needed for the sustainability in the future and has an effective role on it. In fact, the culture of a society describes the society views of the future and that is what people are willing to transfer to future generations.
Methodology: In this study in order to realize the culture and identity of Iranian-Islamic architecture in traditional houses. The study will first investigate the impact of culture on mental health and worldwide sustainability and also the impact of sustainability on mental health. Then, based on library evidences and reliable sources such as the Shi'a juridical and the Qur'an, recommendations and opinions will be extracted. And the subsequent analysis of sustainability criteria in accordance with Iranian-Islamic cultural identity, traditional houses will be applied.
Results and discussion: The results indicate that if the nature of Islamic-Iranian architecture be under the considerations by architects, it can be expected to fully meet the needs of the people by the means of design solutions. To achieve contemporary sustainable architecture, induction of Islamic-Iranian culture at the heart of modern architecture should be paid attention to for the achievement of the residents' mental health. The definition of social sustainability that is based on Iranian-Islamic cultural identity, will lead to the reflection of religion in design, in order to provide desirable housing residents with respect to physical and emotional needs. Based on the original cultural features from the Quran, in Iranian traditional architecture, it has been tried to help human beings in the shadow of psychological comfort, to reach perfection. So architecture in the first place should instill in the shadow of Islamic-Iranian culture and try to achieve sustainable housing in order to achieve a sustainable society and design. Moreover, applying the patterns of Islamic-Iranian culture, can be a great help in creating a psychological comfort for people that in addition to health, to provide social stability and a return to Iranian-Islamic identity of Iran.

Abstract

Introduction While influenced by the needs people around it, the environment also affects the formation of particular behaviors and subsequent changes in their thoughts. In this way, the environment can act as a reminder space, and according to Islamic view, the sense of divine presence, or the presence of God, should be pointed out to man. Dhikr here is the reminder of the name of God in the heart and mind of man, who has been ordered to be in all moments of life. The aim of this study was to study the manifestation of Dhikr in the space of Islamic-Iranian architecture through gospel and warning. In this study, with the direct conception of the Qur’an and the use of great interpretations, all the verses related to Dhikr, Bashir and Nazir were extracted. The research method was exploratory-interpretive and content analysis, in which equivalent concepts were explained with logical reasoning.
Conclusion There are various levels of gospel and warning, and to make reminder, the importance of warning is more than gospel. In the context of the Dhikr and the addressee, it is possible to create the reminder space to the addressee through gospel and warning. It seems that by dividing the levels of Dhikr into three levels, the first level consists of warning, the second level consists of gospel and warning, and the third level is only related to gospel, which is expressed in various verses of Qur’an with various addressees. On the other hand, if we consider the architectural space as a combination of motion and stillness, warning and gospel are often used in motion and stillness, respectively. Thus, the architecture space can be designed from the beginning to the end with a range of warning and gospel with the mentioned concept, so that ultimately when it reaches the atmosphere of peace and tranquility, a level of sense of consciousness and sense of presence is perceptible for the audience.

Abstract

Aims Space is the most fundamental aspect of architecture, whose survival directly depends on place survival. The origin of the sense of space is the place that is closely related to it. Architecture space, as one of the main carriers of the art, has a prominent place in society. The place and space were raised as a main subject in both philosophy and architecture and an important part of the literature of these two has human thought aspect. It can be said that the relationship between place and space and their impact on environmental psychology of architecture is the most basic requirement to understand the architecture and the transcendental sense of space to architecture. One of the objectives of this study is to examine the characteristics of the place in creating architectural space, which will be dealt with.
Materials & Methods This is is descriptive-analytical research and it is based on library documents; also, interviews with experts in this field helped us in this regard. The question ahead is “how much can space in architecture affect the audience feeling and how much important is the position of place in the architectural space?
Findings A space in architecture is beautiful when the special attributes of space are in harmony with space operations. This is a principle, which is evident in the study of traditional architecture.
Conclusion Identification of useful elements in the sense of place and space can help us in creating a successful architecture. The positive energy emitted from the architecture space to the audience is controlled by architect and s/he can use it.

Abstract

Aims: The main aim of the research is to recognize the criteria of the authenticity of contemporary mosques based on the obtained criteria. Recognizing the originality to improve the development process of mosques and modeling for the design of future mosques or their development plan.
Methods: The research method is the identification and extraction of indicators, reasoning, and analysis of examples using the opinions of a focused group of experts, and scoring based on indicators.
Findings: The characteristics of the authenticity of the mosques were set in two dimensions, content and body. Content characteristics, such as the use of familiar historical symbols and elements of nature (light and water) as well as respect for community and human privacy and the symbolic divine dimensions of the space to express the sacred nature of mosques. It includes the user pattern and the exact type of structure. In none of these cases should one judge the superiority of the past or today with prejudice, but rather the criterion of its comprehensive usefulness in the mental and physical benefit of the audience.
Conclusion: The analyses show the differences and commonalities of the factors of the authenticity of the mosque. Mosques that had more body manifestation in content aspect at the general of the design of the mosque, were more original. But mosques that have emphasized symbols in terms of content, and they had a weak manifestation of content in the body, were in the middle category. Also, merely sustainable architecture, emphasizing the transformation of symbolic forms and deconstruction in the design, regardless of the content dimensions, has not increased the originality.

Abstract

Aims: Contemporary architecture of Islamic countries as one of the common seasons of these countries, has always felt the lack of discourse between traditional and modern approaches to creating space in the design. So today's architecture has always been looking for creativity in the design process to make up for this shortage. Using the digital approach to redefining the process can help. In addition to beauty, decorations in Islamic architecture are the induction of concepts such as order and existential unity that are seen in the form of geometric and abstract motifs. Also, in Islamic teachings and the Holy Quran, a concept such as unity in multiplicity has been mentioned a lot. Redefining this concept with a digital approach to Islamic architecture decorations could be a new discourse between a traditional and a modern approach. In This study examine the role of digital approach in the manifestation of Islamic architectural decoration in the design process inspired by the teachings of the Holy Quran.
Methods: The research method that used in this study is "logical reasoning", using "analytical-descriptive" approaches with a qualitative approach.
Findings: The digital approach based on Bottom to Up method and focusing on the three areas of patterning and generative pattern, algorithm-coding, and digital fabrication redefine Islamic architectural decorations by changing the basic parameters and produces new patterns.
Conclusion: The fields of digital approach can design and produce Islamic teachings such as unity in multiplicity with geometric mathematical foundations in Islamic architectural decoration.

Abstract

Aims: Light hierarchy is a secondary but highly influential issue in the perception of space and forming a unique experience in architecture. Light hierarchy is due to a light gradation which presents the priority of space content and leads the users into the space around him. This is a significant subject in Iranian-Islamic architecture that is considered in constructing a pleasant building in various ways.
Instruments & Methods: To identify the factors contributing to the Light hierarchy, experts in the field of Iranian-Islamic architecture were surveyed by the Delphi method to identify the factors and their role as fundamental, main or complementary factors. To be specific, experts were also asked to rate the role of factors in the creation of light hierarchies with a Likert scale of 5 degrees. Wilcoxon test was used to analyze data at the last part.
Findings: The factors were divided into three categories: “Lighting Elements” (such as normal opening and lattice opening), “Intermediate communication with outer space”, and “Decorating”.
Conclusions: Experts believed that the “normal opening” had a significant effect on the “fundamental factor” in creating a light hierarchy. In addition, “lattice opening” and “architectural spaces” were identified as the “main factor” factors controlling the light, and decorations as the “complementary factor” influence the light hierarchy.

Abstract

Public bathes have much importance in Islamic cities, after the most significant structures like mosques and schools. There are a number of factors affecting the construction of bathes among which temperature regulation, humidity, access path, location in the urban texture, watercourses, and construction of exit paths are the most important. This study tries to make a comparative analysis of the architectures of bathes during Safavid and Qajar in order to reveal factors affecting their construction as well as the types of architecture implemented. Consequently, 13 public bathes were recognized and examined. The data elicited was then subjected to SPSS for further statistical investigation. Nonparametric Spearman correlation test was utilized to know the relationship among the variables and the factors affecting the architectures. The findings reveal a number of factors to be in statistically high correlation.

Abstract

Islamic architecture has long been recognized as one of the most important part of architecture in the history of world architecture, and despite the statement expressed by many scholars and historians in this field; the question that is always concerned is that, what is Islamic architecture? What are the different interpretations raised regarding this architecture? What was the status of the Orientalists' view on Islamic architecture, and what was the difference in their interpretations? The history of art and Islamic architecture in the world dates back to about half a century, and the origin of "Islamic architecture" can be attributed to the beginning of the Orientalism movement in the West. Orientalists and Western theorists in defining Islamic architecture have expressed many different interpretations. The study of different perspectives in this field shows that not all interpreters and theorists are in the same position and have a different perception associated to the works of Islamic architecture. Considering the two historical (historiographer) and the legal (epistemological) views of this architecture shows the difference in their approach on this issue. In each of these approaches, the order of form and meaning are examined. The historical approach, in terms of form and framework, interprets the Islamic works and what was important for them to be considered has been the change in the form of architecture. However, legal approach, considers art and Islamic architecture as one of the manifestations of Islamic thought that has richness within itself, so that this architecture, as a language that tells the truth, has emerged from the level of meaning to the level of emergence. Using interpretive-historical methods as well as library and documentary information, this article seeks to review the Islamic architecture from the perspective of historians and Orientalists and provide a clear interpretation of Islamic architecture for today’s audience.

Abstract

Sistan, situated between southeastern Iran and western Afghanistan, mainly falls within Afghanistan’s present province of Nimroz. Iranian Sistan, or Western Sistan, lies in the northern part of Sistan and Baluchistan province, characterized by its flat terrain formed by Hirmand River sediments. Historical and archaeological studies reveal different cities throughout Sistan's history. Zaranka, Proftazia, and Ram Shahristan served as hubs in the Achaemenid, Parthian, and Sasanian periods, respectively. In Islamic times (7th to 18th century), Zarang, Shahr-e Sistan, and Shahr-e Nou Sistan emerged as significant centers. Except for Zahedan-e Kohneh, which preserves the remnants of Shahr-e Sistan, the second capital of Sistan in the Islamic era, little information is available about the location of other central cities from this period. Zahedan-e Kohneh has earned the moniker "London of the East" due to its grand ruins, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship. The aim of this article is to study the architectural features and urban structure of the historical city of Zahedan-e Kohneh, which was the second capital (Dar alHukuma) of Sistan during the Islamic era (5th to 9th centuries AH). The results of studies show that engineers from Sistan a thousand years ago were very successful in designing and building this city, and in order to build a good and flawless city, they applied various sciences such as geometry, geography, geology, climatology, and ecology
